Is there any reason why a car with automatic stability control shouldn’t have studded tires or chains put on it?
There’s some cars that you shouldn’t put chains on, but it doesn’t have anything to do with the ASC. The owner’s manual should say if you can or can’t use chains.
Greasy is right, you have to check the owner’s manual on that subject. As for studs, may I ask why? Studs have some problems and are not legal everywhere. They do help a lot on ice, but modern WINTER tyres are new and they offer some advantages over studs and they come close to studs where studs are tops. They lack many of the drawbacks of studs. I am not talking about snow tyres.
