AC clutch spinning slowly, sometimes

I’ve owned a 2003 Jeep liberty with 190000 miles for a week or two. The AC, which worked great when I bought it started turning off sometimes.

When it does work, it works very well. When it stops it makes a grinding sound, and the clutch pulley will turn very slowly.

I’m thinking it’s the AC clutch itself, not the compressor? But I’m not sure, and maybe that’s wishful thinking.

The compressor clutch is slipping.

Rockauto doesn’t list just the compressor clutch for your vehicle.

So, the compressor itself may require replacement.
