ABS Problem

Vehicle - 2003 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE 3.5 Liter V6 with TCS

When I apply the brakes everything works as designed. As the car slows down the ABS activates as you reach low speed just prior to coming to a stop. Thats when the clunking sounds occur on the front wheels(ABS has activated) The wheels have not locked up so the ABS should not activate. What is the fix/solution ? Note - the ABS error lights do not come on to indicate any issue with ABS system.

I don’t know what the cause is, but I have the exact same problem with my 2002 Chevy pickup. Anybody know what the fix is for this? It is very annoying, and at times I think, dangerous.

ABS shouldn’t ‘clunk’. In every car and truck I’ve been in, the ABS makes a ‘brrrrr’ sound, and you can feel the brake pedal pulsate very fast, like vibrate and get hard. Are you sure it is not a sticking up clutch on the lock-up torque converter? That would make a ‘clunk’ as you slow down.

Hello, have you guys had a brake repair or pads changed recently ?
Do a search for NTB00-033a (6-11-2003), it may help you.
