ABS light

I have a 1997 Dodge Intrepid 3.5. The ABS light keeps coming on and going off. When I press on the brakes there’s a noise and a vibration.

Please check the brake fluid level in the reservoir under the hood. Refill if necessary.

Have you had a mechanic check your vehicle? If not, now’s the time.

When the ABS light is on, the anti-lock brake system is disabled. Keep that in mind.

The noise and the vibration are most likely the ABS activating when it is not supposed to, due to a fault in the system. That fault is causing the ABS warning light to come on.

You need to get the car to a competent mechanic, which DOES NOT include Midas, Meineke, Monro, Sears, or any other chain operation or tire shop. Seek an independent mechanic who has a good reputation.
