Abs light and brake light is on

what will make the lights come on.but yet the brakes are working? is it safe th drive the car /

By “brake light”, I am assuming that you mean the brake system warning light on the dashboard, rather than the brake lights on the rear of the car. If that is the case, the first thing to do is to check the level of the brake fluid in your master cylinder. If it is low, refill to the “full mark” with the correct spec brake fluid.

After refilling the MC, have a mechanic check the brake system because low brake fluid indicates either of two conditions:

Worn brake pads
A leak in the brake hydraulic system

Either situation can lead to loss of braking ability, so this is not something that you can afford to delay.

The ABS light means your anti-lock brakes are not working. You can live with that…But the “brake” light means something more serious is wrong, something that could lead to total brake failure. The two could be related. Have it checked out… Something you can do yourself, check your brake fluid, if it’s low, that will make the “brake” light come on…
