Ah ha, so that’s how they do it. A few years ago it was a very cold winter and without much snow. People were having trouble with their underground lines freezing up all over town. We were advised to check the cold water temp and if it got down close to freezing to let the water run a little to prevent freeze up. At any rate there seemed to be only one guy in town that was able to thaw the pipes again with any level of success. That must have been the way he did it. Problem is, I have plastic supply pipe but never had a problem myself.
Frozen water supply lines are fairly normal around here and likewise, run water advisories. There are many folks who thaw metal lines and quite a few can thaw plastic. That of course requires a different technique, some specialized equipment, often homemade, and is a little more tedious.

I don’t do either, but I HATE smoking - probably the most discussing habit you can do.
I rented a car last week on a business trip…the previous driver was a smoker…There was a discussing film on all the windows (car rental agency didn’t do a good job cleaning)…and the smoke smell was in all the seats and carpet. It was suppose to be a non smoking car…
Did you refuse it? I would have. If the rental company would not change vehicles or reduce the price, I would never rent from them again. Did you send a letter or email to the management to complain?
I experienced the same thing with a “non smoking” hotel room.
I had a smoking room on a business trip. It smelled awful and made my eyes hurt (I wore contact lenses at the time). I complained to the front desk and they said that they were only required to try to get a nonsmoking room. I called my travel agency, got a nonsmoking room at a different hotel, and checked out no more than an hour after I arrived. I didn’t use anything in the hotel room and they did not need to freshen it up for the next person. If this happens to you, don’t use the towels or soaps and don’t turn the bed down. If you leave it as you could it, the hotel should not charge you anything.
