A "How-To-Post-Multiple-Posts" for this very odd forum software

Well, I think I’m not the only one running into this problem, and I hate losing a post (especially if it was a long one), so hopefully this will help someone out.

I’m talking about when you are in a thread, you reply to someone’s post, and then want to make another reply in the same thread. You hit submit for the 2nd post, and the page reloads, but wait a minute…where the heck is the 2nd reply you just submitted?

This is the work-around I’ve found…either go back to the main index and click back into that thread and make your reply, or look at the address bar at the top of your browser and you’ll see something like this:

http://community.cartalk.com/posts/list/21/1088811.page#1168030

Click on the address bar and remove the “#1168030” from the URL and press ENTER or click on a button that’ll load your modified URL. So, you should have this in your address bar afterwards:

http://community.cartalk.com/posts/list/21/1088811.page

Now make your 2nd (or 3rd, or 4th) reply and it should post. Works everytime for me.

Hopefully I’m not the only one having this problem, if it’s just me, I’ll feel pretty silly. I use IE 7, so maybe Firefox doesn’t do this. In any case, hope it helps someone out and saves a few posts from getting lost in cyberspace.

You have to reply to the first one…then press the back key until you get back to where you were before you pressed the post key. Navigate to the next post you want to reply to…then hit press the reply button again.

Yup, that does the same thing. I find it quicker to just get rid of that #xxxxx part of the URL, but to each his own.
