It calls for a 10 Amp
Disconnect the compressor. Take a test light and connect it to the hot side of the battery. Probe both terminals at the compressor. If the test light illuminates there’s a short in the compressor clutch. A VOM could also be used.
If the diagram I looked at is to be believed, the green is hot and the black is ground. There is also a diode between the terminals.
