I have an A/C compressor for my 1996 Dodge van 2500. The clutch is rattling on mine, can I pull it off and replace it with the other one?? It looks like I can take the nut off and pull the pully off with a wheel puller. Do you know of any reason why this won’t work?
I understand that there is a special puller to do that. If you put pressure on the compressor shaft, you will probably break the rear seal, and there’s another problem. I am not an expert, but I have asked about that with a few people that I know that work on A/C.
I got a used clutch and exchanged it for my old one, now all is well!!
