I was giving the wife’s car a tune up (new plugs, filter etc) I noticed that in the throttle body ( behind the plate) it is covered in what looks like oily goo. Should i at some point remove the TB and give it a good cleaning inside?
Purchase an aerosol can of throttle body cleaner. If it’s really gunked up you might need two cans. Hold the throttle plate open and spray inside the throttle body. Using a toothbrush helps to break up the deposits.

And park it in a miserable neighbors driveway with the rear toward his house. BEFORE you spray!
