I own a 1996 Lexus ES300 and just had the fuel pump replaced. The started just fine immediately after replacing the pump… but a couple hours later the car would not start. We placed a fuel pressure gauge on it and not getting a reading. So it seems like the pump is not wanting to kick on… but it will at other times.
Any advice or feedback on this issue?
I would check the fuel pump relay circuit. See if power is getting to the relay; the realy is being switched ‘on’ by the ECM; and sending power to the fuel pump. Also check the fuel pump ground which usually goes to the body somewhere. If you feel like parts replacing, just install a new fuel pump relay and see what happens.
Hope this helps.
