I just replaced the head on my escort and now have this error code, i replaced the sensor and have no change. It also is missing a little not sure what to do next. Any help would be great realy don’t want to go to the dealer $$$$.
The problem could be to the cam position sensor. The wiring, or wire connector, could be faulty.Got multimeter? http://www.autozone.com/autozone/repairinfo/repairguide/repairGuideContent.jsp?partName=Camshaft+Position+Sensor&pageId=0900c152800a8b04&partId=0900c152800a8b04
yes i do have a multimeter - i have already replaced the cam sensor.
Are you absolutely sure that you have gotten the valve timing correct? I am wondering if the ECM is objecting to a mismatch between the crank position sensing and the cam position sensing.
Hope that is it.
The link I left, above, is for using that multimeter (and, preferably, backprobes) to check the wiring and the output signal of the cam position sensor.
To rephrase, “The problem could be [wiring faults] TO, or FROM the CPS [faults in wiring, or bias voltage fault, if any]”.
Use multimeter?
