i have a 1994 nissan quest 3.0 v6 and when i put it in reverse or drive it will slip into neutral if i am stopped. also the front motor mount needs to be replaced, which i will do soon. are these problems related, if not how do i fix the shifter/linkage problem? when driving the vehicle upshifts and downshifts perfectly. please help i’ve never dealt with this type of problem before. thank you
Fix the front motor mount ASAP. I bet that the problem of the transmission slipping into neutral will be cured. When the engine shifts position, it pulls the transmission with it. The linkage is then pulled into neutral.
