So, I cleaned the EGR valve on the car - which generally fixes it… After that found out the ECMB fuse was blown - replaced and the car started - for all of five seconds. Now it just keeps blowing the fuse… My stepdad thinks it needs a new fuel pump because the one is overloading the fuse or whatever… Thoughts?
Thanks!
Disconnect the fuel pump, replace the fuse, and crank the car. If the fuse doesn’t blow (the car won’t start, but you’ll be powering the ECM) then I think your dad is right.
I had the fuel pump replaced (it was shorted and had melted some wires, so that was what was causing that) so now, the fuel pump is good, but it still will not start - even after also replacing the fuel filter… Any more thoughts on that?
Thanks.
You might try spraying some starter fluid into the intake to see if that helps get it going.
