I did relocate to a warmer climate.
When you changed the dizzy part, did you disconnect the battery? If so, that might have something to do w/why the normal dashboard lights come on now when you turn the key to “on”. The battery the connections might be tighter now. The warmer temperatures could be the reason too, maybe you got an iffy connector leading to the dashboard electronics. In any event, however it happened, it’s fixed. Good for you.
I did not remove the battery
I had a 94 Silverado, dash lights worked sometimes, sometimes they didn’t. Usually if you banged on the dash above the instrument cluster, they’d work. Loose connection at the cluster on mine. Just one big junction/plug behind the cluster.
