2021 Honda HR-V - Dash lights on the blink

Flickering dash for the odometer, fuel, time, trip, and outside temp. Sometimes it goes completely blank too.

If the vehicle hasn’t yet reached its third birthday and/or it hasn’t yet hit 36k miles, the necessary repair will be covered by warranty, at the dealership.

Might be a bad BCM.

Thank you I should have mentioned the in service date is 04/2021 with 16k miles.

Excellent news on the car’s age & odometer mileage!
Off to the dealership for free repairs–very likely the BCM that Tester mentioned, but don’t give them a diagnosis. Let them go through their diagnostic procedures without any prompting from you. Whatever it is, you are covered… unless the vehicle was abused in some way, or if there is accident damage.

Edited to say…
Whoops!
I must have had a brain fart earlier regarding the age of the car. I think that the portion of the warranty that would cover this type of repair actually lapsed several months ago.
Sorry for the false encouragement.

Honda and Honda dealers have been investigating instrument cluster issues, they may have a remedy for the problem. Since the new vehicle warranty expired 8 months ago, there is no assurance the repair will be performed for free.

Below are manufacture messages that were sent to dealers.

No problem… Thank you

Thanks for the info… The action required in your message refers to Civic’s and CR V’s. My car is a 2021 HRV LX which apparently is doing the same things as described. Other sites I have looked at say it is the soldering on the back of that particular gauge and the whole dash needs to be removed to correct it. No recalls for this and it has been an issue starting with the 2016 which was the first year of the HRV.
