Our new Jeep Cherokee Latitude revs up, sounding like a large truck when it starts up, but not every time. Is this normal?
I don’t know, but I would take it back to the dealership to have them take a look at it since it’s still under warranty. If they try to tell you “they all do that” request to take a test drive in another Cherokee at the same year and trim level yours is to compare

One word of advice:
WARRANTY
Is it only loud when you start it with the A/C turned on?
Does this vehicle have a turbo-equipped engine? Some of the smaller displacement Jeep engines are turbos. If so, could be related to the noise you are hearing.
