2018 Honda CR-V CarPlay problem

Ray, need your help. We bought my wife a new 2018 Honda CR-V and we are having problems with CarPlay. The car controls the volume of the ringer and (phone call) talking with just one setting. Either the volume is higher (voice volume is OK but ringer is startlingly loud) or volume is lower (can’t hear the caller but the volume is reasonable). The dealer says they cannot solve our issue. This is a common problem according to internet posts. Any suggestions or just don’t using CarPlay?

Have you tried turning the ringer volume down using the phones controls ?
