Sorry! My sincere apologies! I try, but I really need to try harder and stop doing that!
You’d have to be here to understand, I guess.

I’ve been trying to convince my wife to move to Aventura for years now.
I’m of the opinion that a quart of oil useage every 1800 is a sign of a problem related to rings. The only car I’ve owned in my life that had an oil consumption problem was my old Mercury Sable. It went through a quart every 600 miles. Considering the car had over 400k miles on it and most of the oil loss was through a leaking rear main seal that I had no inclination to fix I just let it go as the car was near the end of its service life anyway.
Even my current Lincoln at near 300k miles never needs oil between the roughly 3500 miles oil change intervals. It boggles my mind that car makers will state that a quart per 1000 miles or whatever is fine. And to think they’re worried about emissions on one hand but on the other hand say sure, it’s okay for countless millions of new cars to spit burned oil into the atmosphere while also caking up the converters.
I had a Flathead 6 that got about 250 miles to the quart. On the plus side, it kept the mosquitoes away.
They will tell you thAt’s normal useage . You can watch it and add when needed or trade it in and hope the new one doesn’t do it too .
