I have a 2017 Buick LaCrosse seat mechanism that enables seat to adjust up and down needs a part. Dealer does not support part any suggestions would help please.
Welcome to the forum…
Unfortunately there are many parts to these seats, motors, control buttons, tracks etc…
If you can give us the exact part needed or dealer part number (should be on work order estimate or they should at least be able to give you the discontinued part number) needed and we should be able to help more…
The box that 18-19-20 are in should have your broken part if you know which one it is… maybe…
Google LKQ in your area and call them with what part you need, give them your VIN to help narrow options down… Or even try cart-part.com enter VIN and search for the part needed…
Another possible source would be asking an upholstery shop in your area if they can do the work…
Good ideas above. Other ideas
- A new aftermarket part or sub-assembly (containing that part) might be available at rock auto’s website
- ebay motors website is worth a check too.
- there may be a wrecked buick with that part just waiting for you to take sitting on blocks at your nearby pick and pull. Their website will tell you which cars they currently have.
This reminds of the call on a recent Best of Car Talk podcast. Subaru owning caller needed the small screw that held his rear view mirror onto the car’s mounting bracket. It’s a special design, hollow & plastic. Presumably made using a mold, designed so it breaks before the mirror breaks if the mirror accidentally gets bumped. The dealership parts dept had it, but only by purchasing another mirror for $50+. Caller said he didn’t need another mirror, only the screw. Caller phone up Subaru Customer Service, waited on hold for 45 minutes, waited again to speak to the VP (of mirror presumably ) who said he’d mail the screw to the caller. Caller waited 9 months, screw never arrived. Caller complaining to Ray and Tom his neck hurts b/c of all the twisting required with no mirror … lol …
