oil consumption issue,I had oil consumption tests & it is verified my 2016 Chrysler 200c @ 15,855 miles, then again 17,066 miles conclusion is known to have oil consumption problems I was told I will need to check every 1000 miles, brought to dealership @ 21,086 was told I will need to add quart of oil approximately every 2000 miles
For most manufacturers one quart per 2000 miles is considered acceptable.
Get used to checking your oil frequently, I check mine when cold, ensuring oil has drained back into the pan.
Thank You for your feed back, I have owned many vehicles never had this issue, I don’t feel this should be acceptable, I would have never purchased this vehicle had I known!
Do not let your oil get below I quart low. If you damage the engine because of low oil level. you will void your warranty. This is not unique to Chrysler, every manufacturers owners manual mentions checking your oil and many say how many miles per quart is acceptable. My Toyota’s manual says one quart per 700 miles is acceptable even though it uses no perceptible oil between annual oil changes.
All internal combustion engines consume oil, it is just a matter of amount.
