2016 Cadillac Escalade ESV with deteriorating clear coat on the hood and roof. Well cared for business vehicle, so definitely a defect in the clear coat. I have seen other 2016 Escalade’s with the same issue including the post from my area in Loxahatchee in 2020. Have an appointment with Auto Nation Cadillac so we will see what the outcome will be since it is past the 5-year paint warranty.
I don’t recall hearing of this here, but you could try the forum search feature, see if anybody else has mentioned this as a problem for that vehicle. Icon upper right this page.
My Corolla came with a few clear-coat paint defects on the hood right from the factory, due to a known factory paint contamination problem. Toyota offered to repaint the hood, but I declined, thinking the devil you know is better than the devil you don’t. Keeping the paint surface clean and twice yearly waxing turned out to be a pretty good solution. Parking in the shade is helpful too, when such a thing is possible.
