I was charged $265. for replacement of the brake light switch. Is that too much?
Well, you did not say where the repair was done so that might be right price for your area or who ever did it for you.
My guess is that it’s within reason and especially so if this was done at a VW dealer.
Electrical components that are (in this case…) VW factory OEM parts usually have a high price tag. Labor rates at a 100 per flat rate hour and even more an add up.
How much was for the part(s), how much for the labor?
Where I’m at, it would cost less than $100.00 to replace the switch. Not including tax.
Tester
