2015 Toyota Camry - AC and codes

2015 Camry with 41K miles. AC blows warm air, error code reads B1479 - flow sensor. Replacing the flow sensor should be about a $500 repair. Apparently nobody makes a reliable flow sensor that mounts on the compressor; thus requiring a condenser replacement (up to $1500). Except the OEM provider of the compressor will not warranty (12K miles/12 months) the compressor unless the AC filter in the Condenser is replaced (another $500). So the total repair for a flow sensor? $1500 +/- unwarranted, or $2000 warranted. Called Toyota USA, they are not interested. Next time - Honda.

Why should they be ? You are past the warranty period and mechanical things do break . Find a independent shop and have it done right .
