Skunk sprayed the outside of my car. How do I get rid of smell?
Outside the car—several trips through a brushless car wash should do it.
Perhaps first flood the exterior with several gallons of white vinegar.
I can attest to Nature’s Miracle. That stuff works. Which is really nice when something freaks my cats out and they pee all over the carpet.
One time I had a night job, from 7 pm to 4 am. One advantage to these work hours, easy to find a place to park near the front of the building. The downside occurred when I left at 4 am. There were skunks all over the place, under the car, and usually 2 or 3 sitting on top of the hood. Well behaved skunks fortunately, they’d politely move off the car when I started the engine
Our dog was sprayed and became so embarrassed she hid in the pick-up. We couldn’t find her and followed the smell- passenger seat, mine.
Here’s a recipe that someone supposedly wanted to market, but found the containers would explode if they sat on the shelf-(apocryphal?) but anyway, it works:
you’ll need:
a bathtub.
Mix together:
- 1 quart of 3-percent hydrogen peroxide (available at any pharmacy)
- 1/4 cup baking soda.
- 1 teaspoon liquid dishwashing soap.
cover dog. rinse.
or spray on car
