My car battery apparently died and when I went to start it my key got stuck in the ignition. I am just going to replace the battery but how do I get the key out for the time being?
There is a lock release lever in the steering column that will allow you to turn the ignition to the “lock” position and remove the key.
If charging or jump starting the
battery does not work, locate the
hole below the ignition lock. Insert a
flat bladed tool or another key from
the key chain into the opening.
When the lever can be felt, actuate
the lever toward the driver, and
remove the key from the ignition.
