Replaced a 2.0L engine in my 2014 Kia Forte with a 2016 2.0L engine. Runs greats with one exception: if you try to accelerate and engine rpm reach 4500 the engine cuts off, completely. Won’t restart until rpms drop to zero. Can be a bit tense when trying to pass on the interstate. Didn’t have this problem with the original engine. Is this a ecm setting? Can compensate for this problem when getting ready to pass by popping into sport mode and dropping into 5th gear, so it won’t drop from 6th into 4th or 3rd.
So, you didn’t replace the ECM along with the engine from the 2016?
