My daughter-in-law’s 2014 Jeep diesel “shutters” whenever she accelerates and stop when she takes her foot off the gas. The car has about 80,000 miles. If she accelerates several times in succession, the shaking stops. I found several other descriptions of the same problem on the internet without a solution. She has made several trips to the dealer about this, again without an answer. Any ideas to pursue?
My guess, some sort of high pressure fuel injection pump problem. Pretty common problem for diesel engines in general if you search the prior posts here (link upper right this page). One thing is certain, it is definitely not a faulty coil or fouled spark plug … lol …
Does she have a CEL on (check engine light)??
Have her while driving normal, tap the brake just enough to turn on the brake lights while still accelerating to see if the shutter stops, if it does, confirm by doing it a few times to be sure… again keep accelerating while just tapping the brakes slightly…
I would also check the u-joints…
