My Spark has a 5 speed manual transmission with 49000 miles. The dealership says it is time to service the transmission. Replace the fluid, etc. Cost $190.00, is this really necessary at this time?
Well the fluid is 5 years old and the manual will have a service schedule you can look at . Also any shop can do this service so you can get other prices.
I’ve never had a manual transmission car… but my rule of thumb with auto transmission is replace the fluid every 3 years or 30K miles.
Even $200 is a lot cheaper than any new transmission. Just my perspective.
