2014 Chevrolet Cruze - headlight flicker

Headlight flicker on and off when in auto on

I presume “Auto” headlight mode means they turn on when it gets dark without you having to do anything. Headlights work fine in normal “manually switch on” mode I’m guessing. If so, problem could be something blocking or obscuring daylight optical sensor. No idea where that’s located, but if you know, make sure everything in front of it is clean & clear. That type of sensor is typically very robust, no moving parts, so if it isn’t being blocked or obscured, next guess is the sensor’s electrical connector is intermittent. Try unplugging, inspect contacts, and re-connecting.

The sensor is on top of the dashboard. If you have papers, magazines cell phone mounts or anything else on the dash, it may be covering the sensor so it triggers the headlights. So clean off the dash or use the manual light setting.
