I had a tire repaired and when I went to pick it up I started it and it stayed on for a few seconds made a loud noise and shut off. My car is a 6 speed and I park it in neutral and pull up the brake. They parked it in 1st gear and I didn’t realize that until it stalled out. It did not make the usual clutch pop sound it was louder and more of a scraping sound. Well on my way home it started making a loud humming type of sound and it doesn’t happen all the time it comes and goes. I took it to volkswagen and they put it on the diagnostic machine found nothing wrong. The rpms don’t go up when it does this it just sounds louder than the normal car running sound. I think something must have happened when I started it because it was fine when I dropped it off for the tire. Anyone have any idea what could be wrong.
First of all that is just wrong . You should always park with the vehicle in gear and not depend on the parking brake to hold it .
I think you need to call around to some shops. Ask if the work on VW manual transmissions.
I do not know what you mean by “ usual clutch pop sound” never had a manual transmission make a pop sound.
My guesses motor/transmission mounts or exhaust system.
Neither, to my knowledge, would set a diagnostic code.

I mean sometime if you let your foot off the clutch to soon your car will stall and there’s a little sound it makes
