Considering buying this car. They r asking 4500. It’s a 2013 with 156000. I’m concerned about the reports I’m reading on transmission problems with this year. What do u suggest?
I’m guessing this is a private sale. A dealer would ask $5-10k for a 2013 Sentra. Your best bet is to arrange to have the car inspected by a mechanic of your choosing. Tell him you’re especially concerned about the transmission. If you can’t work out something with the seller to have it checked out, keep looking. If you can, and it checks out, buy it and put as much as possible aside for repairs.
Walk away. Seek out a Corolla with the same miles and age. My $0.02. Here’s why. Why buy a car close to end of life with a well-known major defect?

Personally, Nissan is a brand off my list of potential purchases.
