2013 Forester - Inner Tie-Rod

I’m struggling to find instructions in ShopKey on how to replace the inner tie-rods on this car. It looks like a typical setup with wrench flats on the inner tie rod, that allows you to unfasten it from the rack.

However when I look for instructions on how to replace the inner, I cannot find anything on ShopKey, nor any videos on YouTube.

In ShopKey I did find instructions on removing the rack and pinion.

It has you make some sort of adjustment on the center of the rack, and the next step is remove the tie rod. Almost like the fastener in the center of the rack has to be adjusted to install and remove the inner tie rod?

Is that how this set up works on this car?

My main concern is that because there doesn’t appear to be instructions on how to remove the inners with the rack in the car, that’s because you can’t, and the whole rack would have to come out. I know some of the newer Accords are like this.

Thank you, this is for a different car though. Is the process the same? I’m concerned that there are no instructions on ShopKey with it in the car.

It’s the same procedure for the Forester.
