Is there a transmission indicator light in 2010 jeep liberty?

When it comes on it probably is too late. I left a link below with warning light symbols and meanings. this all should be in your owner’s manual.

Automatic Transmission Warning

Automatic Transmission Warning Example

An automatic transmission can make driving a car so much easier but is also a complex component. When it goes wrong it tends to go very wrong with expensive results. If you see what looks like a cog with an exclamation mark then your car may be telling you that it is detecting a fault in the gearbox. Get it checked out as soon as possible and try to avoid pushing it - or even driving at all if you don’t fancy risking further damage.

If you mean the indicators that show what gear you’re in, that’s just below the needle in your tachometer and above the odometer.

You should be able to turn the ignition key to the run position to see all the dashboard lights, it might take a few times trying, they don’t stay on long…

You can also shine a bright light at the instrument cluster (dashboard) to see if your vehicle has a trans indicator spot in the cluster rather it is available depending on trim level… (I’m sure that doesn’t always work on some dashes)…

But, you do have a CEL (check engine light) on the dash that will light up if the TCM/PCM detects a malfunction with the transmission most of the time, so you can always check those with a good scanner…

That never crossed my mind, always thinking the worst… lol :man_facepalming:

Could be either. The OP’s description wasn’t clear enough. I think most posters believe they have been crystal clear, me included. It becomes evident that isn’t the case as responses come in.

If the bulbs work! One time when I was on the market for a used minivan, the seller let me take it home overnight to look things over. I only had a generic code reader at that time, and there was no CEL. But I decided to hook it up anyway, and it had an evap system code stored. So I turned to run - and sure enough! No CEL. It had either burned out - of even more likely! - the seller pulled it out!

Anyway, that’s just a stupid story. @MikeD13 - turn the key to the run position and check out what lights up.

That is why you shine a bright light on the cluster to see if it is even there…

But yeah, I have cut the big red wire for the ABS relay on the old 90’s Cavalier’s and then removed the ABS warning light from the dash a few times… IYKYK
