we have had Dodge vans for many years and this 2010 has thrown us a curve.
There seems to be a great deal of exhaust noise when you accelerate during city driving and when you drive at highway speeds it is constant. How loud can it be, you ask? It is almost loud enough to drown out your show, almost. My wife has complained to me about the noise and she never talks to me. So you know this is serious.
I have approached my trusted mechanic person, on his boat. he told me to visit my closet sporting goods store. Mechanics being oracles of knowledge i asked him why? he said, that is where you can buy ear plugs and he motored away form the dock.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Did it do this on the test drive?
Take it back to the dealership and tell them to fix it.
This was not the van i test drove. But the one i tested did not make this noise
I agree with Shadow. Take it back and make them fix it. It’s under warranty. Use it.
If you in fact have an exhaust leak and it has a path to the passenger compartment, this could also be a safety issue, so don’t delay.
Thanks for your suggestion.
I will gte back to them tomorrow.
Lorenzo, next time test drive the one you want to buy, too. It’s unusual for there to be a problem with a new car, but it does happen.
