I have a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan with 19,000 miles. In dry weather, I have sluggishness in the 45-50mph range. In wet weather, same mph, I hear and feel a rhythmic thud sound. Let off the accelerator, it stops. Speed up again, it starts again. What do you think?
I think you should check and see if this vehicle is still under warranty. If it is, take it to a Dodge dealer and let them figure it out.
How would you like to be the flat rate Tech that had this vehicle dispatched to him? Would you be tempted to just say something was wrong just so you could make some money? This could backfire as if the customer said it still does it and you started the lemon clock running.
I always bit the bullet and passed on just saying something was wrong when it wasn’t,I did not want to get tied to such a complaint. Please you don’t need to pay me just don’t dispatch it to me again.
I’ve been to the dealer 3 times with this problem. Unfortunately, as soon as the weather improves the sound doesn’t happen anymore. It happened today! Raining in the am, I make an appt at the dealer, sunny by the time I get there. I know I’m not crazy since I’ve had others in the car with me. The tech only vaguely mentioned the transmission. No ideas?
Another case of the new car with a noise that only the owner car hear and everyone loses money on. You don’t see people bringing these types of problems to independants when the car is out of warranty, why, because then they must pay out of pocket for these searches.
