windows with exception of driver doesn’t work. Now the int./ ext. awareness light ( from the a/c) doesn’t turn off causing the battery to drain-off neg. post( very hard or no start. So first the elec winws then a/c/shorting out. I think someone may have said a relay??? The frustration and sense of reliability. Is there a re-call?
Google “national vehicle recall” to find a website to tell you the recall status for your car. The Hyundai website may have that info too. Have you taken your car to a local car repair shop or to the dealership shop? If so, what is their theory for these problems? Suggest to find a shop who has access to the car’s wiring diagrams and the Kia scan tool.
3/4 windows failing on a 2009? I wouldn’t be very happy about that were I in your shoes. A/c is complicated, but windows? Those should be way more reliable than what you are getting. If you feel lucky, you could get out your flashlight & take a look at the wire harness between the driver’s door and its door jam. That harness flexes every time you open & close the door and the insulation may be wearing off.
Have all the fuses been checked?
The car is 15 years old. It is beyond any expected “sense of reliability”
Likely no, you are going to have to pay to fix this.
You can check for recalls on your car here:
… and yet, another member of this forum is advising people to buy cars that are 24-27 years old.
Are you sure there is a not a switch that can power or depower those windows? Check owners manual. It’s a safety/peace of mind feature for when passengers might be messing with the windows against the driver’s wishes.
+1
Most–if not all–cars with power windows have a switch to “lock” all of the windows except for the driver’s window. I think that the OP (or someone else who drove the car) probably pushed that “lockout” button by mistake.
As if Hyundai had any to begin with. Even if it did that was gone 10 years ago.
You have to wonder if most people understand the concept of Design Life.
