09 civic LX 1850 miles. I bought this car new in Oct 08. Maintenance Minder in car says oil at 80%…but I hear my lifters clattering away on cold starts. Should I change the oil now? Who knows how long the car sat on the lot before I bought it and it’s been 5 months driven. Thanks.
It’s under warranty, take it to the dealer to get checked out.
It can’t hurt to change the oil now. It may reduce the noise, but this may be characteristic of your car. If the noise goes away as the motor warms up it should be nothing to be concerned about.
