2009 Chrysler Sebring - Heat related issues

paint and gaskets are failing to the heat. Also I am hearing a clattering noise when it is running.

Park in shade when possible, or if sunny area only place to park, try to park facing north. Gaskets are replaceabale items, shop cann install new ones for you. What part of car is noise coming from? front, back, right, left? Does it change idling & parked vs driving?

Reported here to be a good source for quality gaskets

Perfectly normal. Adjust your expectations. This is a nearly 14 year old Chrysler product nearly all of which will have similar problems. Worse, if parked outside most of its life in a southern state.

And that doesn’t address the engine clatter.

If you are askIng what to DO about it… repaint the car, install new gaskets if you can find them but expect a large cost estimate. Figure $5000 and up. A new or used engine may be required to solve that so figure another $4500.

That car is not worth that.
