2008 Ram 2500 Starter Clicks Once When Dead

I have a 2008 Ram 2500 6.7 Cummins, and when my batteries are too dead to start, the starter just clicks once and gives up. I’m pretty sure I have battery issues already, but is that normal for the starter or do I need to worry about that too?

If the battery’s are low, you’ll hear the starter solenoid click, but there’s not enough current to operate the starter.

So it would be normal.

Get new batteries and if the starter works as normal then you will have your answer.

As a side note I know a guy that replaced one battery, not both started an ran ok, until the non replaced battery exploded.
