Do you hear that rrr rrr rrr sound, but it won’t catch and run? Is that the problem?
Check the battery and terminals , if not might be the starter
If the vehicle has an automatic transmission, with the dash lights on, step on the brake pedal and shift the transmission into neutral, and then try starting the engine.
If the engine starts, there’s a problem with the transmission range switch.
