It’s possible at some point two mechanics were working on it at the same time.
Is this the equivalent of putting two women on a baby and getting it in half the time?
$1100 to replace two brake hoses and flush the fluid? I don’t care if you have a dozen people on it like a NASCAR pit stop, that is excessive labor for that service in my mind.
I had a roofer try and pull similar shenanigans on me once. His quote had charges related to the number of people working on it. Sorry, something like this, I pay by the job so quote it that way. I don’t care if it takes you 2 hours or 12 as long as the work is done correctly. Your choice how many people to put on it…
Heh heh, yeah I don’t hire work done very often but have to confess I make a note of the number of people and hours worked and do a quick calculation of the labor rate involved. It’s just of interest to me and the rates have generally been north of $130 per man hour. Of course I understand the equipment cost, overhead, travel, down time, and so on that contributes. And I’m happy not to have to do it myself while providing some stimulus to the local economy. Comparing labor costs as usually 3-4 times material cost, I’m happy to have done a lot of work myself over the last 50 years.
