2008 Ford Escape - Hazards come on by themselves

Vehicle is in pristine condition with 24K miles. The hazard flasher goes on intermittently throughout the day. Changed the computer to no avail. Flasher will wear down battery so have to disconnect the battery.

Are you referring to the Body Control Module? The BCM would have been one of my prime guesses, but the hazard light switch itself could be the problem. Did your mechanic first take a look at the simplest fix of all, namely the hazard light switch?

The hazard lights are control[ed by the logic in the smart junction box under the dash.

Is that what was replaced?

And a sticky switch too. First thing I would have done is disconnect the switch to see if the problem goes away, but is not the car under warranty?

I’ve read that some cars the flashers will come on automatically after an accident controlled by an inertia sensor. @Tester is that diagram from an Escape? If so then my answer is not applicable.

2008? Pristine condition or not, I really doubt any warranty is still valid.
