2008 Chevrolet HHR - AC help request

where is the drain in the a’c duct?

about 4 months ago noticed that the passenger carpet was wet [thought it was the door gasket]. then about 2 months ago I sometimes got a squeal when turning the steering wheel [only when the a’c was on]. Mechanic said that blower motor bushing was bad.

when disconnecting the wire, water started dripping from the blower electrical connection. I deduce that there is water sloshing around. where is the drain? and how to unclog it?.

Had the same problem with my 2010 Cobalt a few weeks ago. I believe the Cobalt and HHR same the same platform. The drain tube should be in the middle of the firewall behind the engine. It’s about a foot or so below the back of the engine. Easy enough to reach when the engine is cold. It is round and about an inch in diameter. The tube is split into two sides vertically. I used trimmer line to clean the one side and got a few drops of water out. I used a small air compressor for tires to blow out the other side. About a 1/2 gallon of water poured out after that.

Good luck,

Ed B.
