transmission Handle stuck in park
Is the vehicle parked on a hill? If you didn’t set the parking brake before putting it in park there could be tension on the parking pawl. You might be able to rock it in the uphill direction and relieve the tension. Alternately, the shift lock solenoid could be bad so that the shift mechanism doesn’t know your foot is on the brake. You should be able to find a YouTube vid that will show you how to bypass a bad solenoid but it’s a stopgap measure.
