2007 Volkswagen Rabbit - Transmission leak question

Mechanic says I have small transmission leak. What’s it going to cost including labour?

Standard or automatic?? both can leak…

What part is leaking?? If automatic transaxle, one of two axles seals or both, front pump/converter seal, front pump to case gasket/O-ring, bell housing to case sealant, shift linkage rod, oil pan gasket/sealant, or any sensor in the case or wiring gromet going through the case could be leaking???

A standard transaxle, not as many places to leak but still multiple places to leak…

Labor prices will vary greatly by location, even in the same city, much less by state… So NO way to give you an accurate price on labor, or parts (supplied by shop) for that matter…

Best to call around multiple independent transmission and repair shops in your area for those answers… Sorry, no one here has a working crystal ball, we would need a LOT more info to even begin to give you a rough estimate…

For best help here suggest to tell us more about the vehicle’s transmission configuration, and where the leak is thought to be originating. Most likely the invoice for this repair will be mostly for the shop’s hourly labor rate. What does your shop charge per hour?

Best guess
