How do you get to and change a PCV part on a 2007 Mazda 3i?? The PCV seems to be located underneath the 4 exhaust pipe manifold. I can’t even see it. Much I remove the exhaust manifold pipes to get the PCV or is there an easier way to change it? Thanks.
PCV valve? Maybe get to it from underneath. That’s how it is on my 1999 Honda Civic. The oil filter is in the way, so I changed the PCV valve while changing oil. It was not easy, but once in 179,000 miles doesn’t seem excessive.
I do not know what exact engine you have, but 2.0 liter SkyActiv has exactly the issue you described: you have to remove manifold to get there
one guy on youtube published a way to get to the valve without removing manifold, but amount of work he spent doing it (down to removing parts of cooling system) in my view was totally not worth it, it would be easier to swallow the bullet and remove that damn manifold
besides, if you remove your intake manifold, you would be able to check for carbon deposits on intake valves… and clean it while you are there anyway… once again, good videos on youtube explaining the process
how do I know?
theoretically for now…
but this is in my “to do” list on my wife’s Mazda 3 with 2.0 SkyActiv engine
