My IMA light recently came on in my 2007 HCH. The dealer told me they had to reflash the software to clear the light. I told them I did not want the dreaded software update and they told me they wouldn’t do it. Since I got the car back it has been acting weird, like the engine not shutting off at stops and I wonder if they put in the upgraded software. Is there any way to determine what software is currently in my car?
You would probably have to take it to another dealer to see what version of software you have. Only equipment available to them is likely to be able to tell what version you’re on.
Drive the car a while and see if it settles down. It may have to relearn some variables or your driving habits.
