We have a 2007 Chevy HHR. The front passenger door lock will unlock when hitting the unlock button but as soon as you release the button it will relock automatically so to let a passenger in you have you manually lift and hold the inside locking mechanism while the passenger is lifting the outside door handle. What do we need to do to fix it? Its getting old. Could it be the lock actuator or cable? Thanks in advance.
Your owner’s manual likely has a section on how to program the locks.
I had the dealer reset mine to manual since all this locking and unlocking would likely cause premature wear as well. This takes takes about 5-10 minutes.
