My 2006 Nissan Pathfinder seems to be missing a hose out of the coolant overflow tank at the very top. I cannot get a definitive answer as to if this is by design or if i need to run a hose. Please view the pics of my tank i have pasted below and let me know if i need to add a hose or not.
Thanks

The hose is used to direct any overflow down instead of out toward the engine.
Just go to any auto-parts store and get a 8" piece of hose.
Thank you for your response. I do understand the function of the overflow port/hose. My main mis-understanding is the fact that from lookin online I cannot find out definitely that there is supposed to be a hose there or not on the pathfinder. I know most vehicles do have a hose there that runs behind fender somewhere but is my truck supposed to have the hose or not? Because I see pictures and diagrams online and it almost seems that my truck doesn’t have the hose by design.
Not sure if yours is or not. I really wouldn’t worry about it.
Thank you, so it won’t hurt anything to leave it as it is right? But like you said I can buy a $2 piece of Jose and point it away from engine right ?
